Book Passage Travel Writers & Photographers Conference

- Corte Madera, California
August 14 to 17, 2014

I feel stupendously honored to be on faculty again this year for the Book Passage Travel Writers & Photographers Conference along with such travel luminaries as Don George, Jim Benning, Tim Cahill, Tony Wheeler, David Farley, Andrew McCarthy, Georgia Hesse, Jeff Greenwald, Spud Hilton, and many more ... the list really goes on and on and on. The first year I attended the conference as a student, the experience changed my life (I blogged about it here) and ever since, I've made it one of my life's missions to encourage aspiring travel writers to attend. It is a truly extraordinary once-a-year opportunity. Don't miss it this year!

The four day conference has an extraordinary, international reputation among publishers, editors, and writers. Now in its 22nd year, the conference offers an array of writing and photography workshops in the morning, a full afternoon of panels and discussions, and evening faculty presentations. There are optional, working field trips to explore the resources of the Bay Area. The faculty includes publishers, magazine editors, photographers, travel essayists, food writers, restauranteurs, guidebook writers, and more. There are hours of informal interaction between faculty and participants during lunch and in discussions that often last late into the evening.

(And bonus: ukeleles and karaoke!)
